Bust Monument of NSA’s Former Rector

On 31 May, 2011 the Rector’s Board and the academic staff of the National Sports Academy, official guests and family members of Professor George Kaburov (former rector of NSA) gathered in the courtyard of the NSA for the opening of his bust monument. The monument was inaugurated by the wife of Professor Kaburov and Prof. Lachezar Dimitrov, Rector of the NSA.


Prof. Kaburov’s remarkable contribution of to the development of sports science went beyond the boundaries of Bulgaria. As a graduate of the Universities of Cologne and Leipzig, where he completed degree in journalism and physical education, Professor Kaburov devoted his efforts and knowledge to the modernization of the National Sports Academy. During his governance the new academic building was constructed, many halls were renovated and as a result the NSA facilities became center of a large number of national and international sporting events.
