18 March 2011 Dr. Frank Dick OBE to be awarded Honorary Professorship The awarding ceremony will be held on 29th March 2011, at 10 a.m., in Aula Maxima (the largest hall) at the National Sports Academy (NSA), Sofia. The title of Honorary Professor will be bestowed to Dr. Frank Dick for his distinguished contributions to the Athletics in Europe and worldwide and for his long-time collaboration with the Academy. His professional biography is fabulous and impressive. Dr. Dick has held the post of Chairman of the British Olympic Coaches Advisory Programme from 1983 to 1994. He has also been Director of Coaching for the British Athletics Federation from 1974 to 1994. He served as Chief Coach to the British team at four Olympic Games, seven European Cups, three European Championships and three World Championships. Over the past two decades Frank Dick has worked with many top international athletes, including Daley Thompson, Boris Becker, Katarina Witt and Gerhard Berger. Currently, he is the President of the European Athletics Coaches Association, and Chairman of the International Association of Athletics Federations Academy. For his remarkable achievements he has been bestowed with the honorary title Officer of the Order of the British Empire. Dr. Dick has combined his talent for inspiring sporting achievement with the business world. By recognizing the synergy between effective coaching techniques on the playing field and in the office, over the years he has developed a range of inspirational keynote speech themes, workshop topics and employee development programmes. He is now renowned as one of the best motivational speakers, having delivered lectures in more than 100 companies worldwide. He was a co-organizer and a keynote speaker of two significant scientific forums - the 28th Congress of EACA and the Seminar on Altitude Training in Athletics, both held at the National Sports Academy.
