A delegation led by the Rector met with educational institutions in Cyprus

21 October 2025 On October 18, 2025, while regular classes were taking place at the Bulgarian School „Nikola Vaptsarov“ in Nicosia, the Union of Bulgarians in Cyprus welcomed a delegation from the National Sports Academy „Vasil Levski“ – Sofia, led by Rector Prof. Krassimir Petkov. The delegation also included Lilyana Yaneva – Head of the Educational Department, and Senior Lecturer Maya Zhilieva – Head of the „Bulgarian Language“ Section at the Department of Language Education and Information Technologies. The visit was part of the NSA representatives’ program in Cyprus on the occasion of their participation in the International Studies Expo 2025, held on October 18 and 19 in Nicosia. The forum gathered universities and academic institutions from Cyprus and abroad, which presented their educational programs to young people, parents, and educational consultants. The National Sports Academy „Vasil Levski“ participated with its own booth, where it showcased its study opportunities, international partnerships, and new programs. During their visit, the NSA representatives visited the Union of Bulgarians in Cyprus and the Bulgarian School „Nikola Vaptsarov“ in Nicosia, where they met with the school’s leadership, teachers, students, and parents from the Bulgarian community. Prof. Krassimir Petkov presented the history and mission of the Academy, emphasizing its role as a national and international center for the training of specialists in sports, physical education, and kinesitherapy/physiotherapy. He expressed NSA’s commitment to maintaining continuous relations with Bulgarian schools abroad and supporting young people interested in sports education.
