NSA and the Bulgarian Institute for Standardization Sign a Cooperation Agreement

The National Sports Academy and the Bulgarian Institute for Standardization (BIS) have signed a cooperation agreement. The document outlining future joint activities was signed by the rector of NSA "Vasil Levski," Prof. Krasimir Petkov, and the executive director of BIS, Irena Dabijeva.

Also participating in the discussions from NSA were Assoc. Prof. Hristo Andonov - Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. Ivan Maznev - Secretary General, Assoc. Prof. Orlin Groshev - Head of the Center for Innovations, Technology Transfer, and Intellectual Property, and Assoc. Prof. Antoaneta Dimitrova - lecturer in the Department of Health Care.

Recognizing the role of standardization in the development of the information society, ensuring compatibility and unobstructed information exchange, as well as the necessity of prioritizing the implementation of Bulgarian standards, the parties agreed to combine their efforts in important areas.

A leading task will be the training of students in the field of standardization in line with the profile of the National Sports Academy "Vasil Levski," ensuring that they become highly qualified and competitive specialists, well-oriented towards the innovative European market of products and services. To this end, the establishment of a joint information center for standardization within the Library and Information Center of the Sports Academy is planned. The center will provide free access for lecturers, staff, doctoral students, and students from NSA to an electronic fund containing full texts of certain packages of Bulgarian standards. For this purpose, a working group of specialists from the Academy and BIS will be formed to compile packages of Bulgarian standards relevant to the training profiles in the professional fields of NSA "Vasil Levski," accredited by the National Agency for Evaluation and Accreditation.

The agreement also plans to organize joint events - national and international scientific forums, seminars, exhibitions, and more.
