The NSA and NSO renewed their cooperation agreement

03 October 2024 The Rector of the National Sports Academy, Prof. Krasimir Petkov, and the Chief of the National Security Service, Major General Emil Tonev, signed an agreement that formalized the fruitful cooperation between the two institutions for the next three years. The two signed the document in the presence of the academic leadership of the NSA and the head of the "Training Center" sector of the NSS, Colonel Krasimir Lalev. The agreement regulates the relations and activities in educational, methodological, research, and sports activities in which the two institutions plan to carry out their partnership. An important part of the cooperation will be the development of programs and methodologies for the psycho-physical and shooting training of NSS employees, as well as the conduct of demonstration training, including innovations in the methodology of training and preparation on the issues of psycho-physical training, sports, and actions in extreme situations. In research activities, the two parties will develop and implement projects aligned with the requirements set by our country's membership in NATO and the European Union. Joint studies on the psycho-physical and combat training of NSS employees are also planned. The heads of the two institutions expressed mutual satisfaction and gratitude for the successful cooperation to date. The NSS is a strategic partner for the National Sports Academy, stated Rector Prof. Krasimir Petkov, referring to the long-standing traditions in the training of highly specialized and qualified specialists that the Academy trains for the needs of the National Security Service. On his part, Major General Emil Tonev stated that, as a graduate of the Sports Academy, he feels emotionally connected to its mission and activities, and as the Chief of the National Security Service, he highly values the level of professional staff that the only specialized higher education institution in the field of physical education and sports in Bulgaria has the capacity to prepare. |
