Published on 14 April 2025 Badminton players Gabriela and Stefani (an alumna of NSA) won the European doubles title for the fifth time. At the continental championship in Horsens (Denmark), the Bulgarian duo convincingly defeated the hosts’ representatives Natasha Anthonisen and Maiken Fruergaard with 21:11, 21:16. The Stoeva sisters reached the gold medal match without losing a single game. Stefani and Gabriela played in their seventh final at a European individual championship. Their title chronology includes the championships in Huelva 2018, Kyiv 2021, Madrid 2022, and Kraków 2023. Their list of achievements also features two silver medals from continental competitions, gold from the European Games in Baku (2015), and a quarterfinal appearance at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Thus, Gabriela and Stefani Stoeva now boast an impressive ten medals from major championships, and with each new success, they further establish Bulgaria’s name among the leading countries in badminton.
