The Rector of NSA Participates in "Athlete of the Year" of Dupnitsa Municipality
Published on 03 February 2025 ![]() The Rector of the National Sports Academy, Prof. Krasimir Petkov, took part in the "Athlete of the Year - 2024" ceremony, organized by Dupnitsa Municipality, with which NSA actively collaborates. The event honored the most outstanding athletes, coaches, and teams from the municipality's sports clubs. They received their awards from the Mayor of Dupnitsa, Parvan Dangov, and the two Deputy Mayors. In his address, the Rector of NSA, Prof. Krasimir Petkov, congratulated the athletes, their parents, and coaches, each of whom contributed to the successes of the past year and the sporting glory of Dupnitsa Municipality. Prof. Krasimir Petkov presented several awards in the "Young Sports Hopes" category, recognizing promising athletes. Kickboxing world champion Alicia Susanina won the "Athlete of the Year" award. She is a two-time Bulgarian champion, a world champion from the championship in Budapest, and a three-time World Cup winner. Ranked second is Stefan Dimitrov, the national champion in table tennis for junior and men's doubles, who is also a World Cup champion for juniors. In third place is kickboxer Moni Vasilev – a two-time national champion and a bronze medalist from last year’s World Championship in Budapest. The top coach in individual sports is Dragomir Katsarov – kickboxing, SC "Patriot," while in team sports, the award went to Petar Kolev from FC "Marek 1915." |
