Doychin Boyanov and Alexander Shopov climbed the Needle Peak in Antarctica

Doychin Boyanov and Alexander Shopov, which are part of academic staff of the National Sports Academy participated in the 23th Antarctic expedition.
The expedition operated in the Bulgarian base "St. Kliment Ohridski" on Livingston Island in Antarctica . In the team was also the famous Bulgarian climber Nikolay Petkov.
They became the first to set foot on the Needle Peak and other peaks of the main ridge of the mountain Tangra situated near Bulgarian research base.
Soon one of the peaks will be called with the name of the Bulgarian capital – Sofia.
