Education and Career

  • Graduated from NSA “Vasil Levski” - Bachelor's degree in “Cycling Coaching”, and a second professional qualification “Physical Education Teacher”.
  • In 2003, he obtained a Master's degree with a Professional qualification - “Master of Sports”, Specialization - Cycling
  • From 2003 to 2006, he was a paid lecturer in cycling at NSA
  • Since 2006, through a competitive selection, he has been an Assistant at the department of “Technical and Ice Sports”
  • Chairman of the NSA cycling club “Vasil Levski” from 2014 to the present
  • Member of the Management Board of the Bulgarian Cycling Union (BCU) from 2014 to 2019
  • In 2008, he defended his Doctoral thesis, specialty “Theory and Methodology of Physical Education and Sports Training (incl. methodology of therapeutic physical education)“ and received the educational and scientific degree of “Doctor” from the “Higher Attestation Commission” (VAK)
  • Since 2010, he has been the Head of the “Cycling” sector at NSA “Vasil Levski”
  • From 2012 to 2016, he was the Deputy Head of the Department of “Tech. and Ice Sports”
  • Since 2012, he has held the academic position of Associate Professor
  • In 2016, he defended his second (major) Doctoral dissertation and obtained the scientific degree: “Doctor of Science” (DSc).

  • On 30.01.2024, he was elected Chairman of the General Assembly of the Faculty of “Sports”

  • Cycling competitor for 18 years
  • National competitor for various age groups from 1992 to 2002
  • Multiple medalist at Balkan Championships.

35-time National Champion of the Republic of Bulgaria in the disciplines:

  • Italian pursuit - 5 times
  • 1,000 m standing start - 4 times
  • speed (sprint) - 4 times
  • 1,000 m flying start - 2 times
  • 500 m flying start - 2 times
  • 200 m flying start - 2 times
  • 4,000 m team pursuit - 2 times
  • cyclo-cross - 1 time

State team champion with the teams of: Yantra - Gabrovo, CSKA - Sofia, and Chernomorets Burgas:

  • road - 7 times
  • track - 6 times

Holder of the cup: Gabrovo, Stara Zagora, Kazanlak, Svilengrad, Razgrad, Sliven.

Over 50 placements in the prize trio at National Championships in various age groups.

Coaching Activity

  • Coach of the cycling team at NSA “V. Levski” from 2004 to 2014.
  • His athletes have been champions of the Republic of Bulgaria in various track disciplines.

Publication and Project Activity:

  • Author of two dissertations, five monographs, three methodological guides, one textbook, and numerous educational programs
  • Author of over a hundred scientific articles and publications in the field of sports and physical education.
  • Participant in scientific conferences at home and abroad.
  • Leader and participant in a significant number of national scientific and educational projects.
  • Scientific advisor to bachelors, masters, and doctoral students.
